Working with a limited color, staying on the yellow/red side of the palette. Quite a challenge for me, but I finally ended up with a painting I'm happy to show you. There's something that feels right about painting these in the fall!

This is my first of hopefully many paintings using  alla prima style and painted in a small scale. Its also one of my first oil paintings, so challenges abound!  Two painters I studied with recently, Liz Wiltzen and Gaye Adams, shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for this new painting journey that many artists are joining. I hope you will join me and see what unfolds.
