Come into the gallery and meet Sandy for a fun-and-information packed demo Saturday April 11th, noon - 3:00 pm.
The AZO GOLD Opening Reception was warmly received.
Thank you to friends, art lovers and a passionately creative community for your support. AZO GOLD continues to run throughout the month of April at the Gibsons Public Art Gallery.
Gold connotes richness, warmth, and craftsmanship. Countries base their currency on gold bullion. Some of us grew up on the prairies, seeing the shades of varied crop fields shift color with the breeze. People and plants turn themselves to the warmth of the sun, soaking in its energy for growth and expansiveness. And who doesn’t love to watch the glory of a sunset?
Utilizing glowing transparency, the reflective glow of patina, metallic pigments and leaf, or nickel azo gold paint muted to soft neutrals, the works in this exhibit will all feature some aspect of ‘gold’ and explore the connotations and possibilities that it holds for our selves and our culture.
